Kids, Teen & Adult Horton Technique Intensive: Monday July 8th & Tuesday July 9th

This dance Intensive has an emphasis on training for our upcoming Dance Theater Showcase, “Narnia” opening in February 2020.  Horton will be one of the primary techniques we use for our large core cast in the show and all dancers will need to have a basic understanding and ability of this technique.  This intensive will prepare all dancers with a complete foundation of Basic Horton Technique, accompanied with combinations and choreography that will be used in our production.  We will also spend time on performance training and ability through dance presentation.

The intensive is broken up into 2 days and we have so much to pack into that short time including a brief history and background of Lester Horton and Alvin Ailey, who brought this technique to the public through his work in New York City.

Students must attend both days to participate.

(Note: the schedule of each day is subject to change based on the ability of the class as whole and their general comprehension of the technique as it is taught.)
